Release notes for Indigo versions older than the ones on the Release Notes page, newest first, back to Indigo 2021.1 — the first release built on Python 3 and plugin API 3.0. Releases before that (Indigo 7.5 and earlier, back to 1.0 in 2003) are listed in the full release list on the forums, which links to each one's announcement.

Indigo 2023.1.0 — October 3, 2023

Indigo 2023.1 adds Run Apple Shortcuts and Get Contents of URL actions, Local Secrets and API key caching in the Web Server, Insteon i3 support, and a set of Zooz 700-series devices. Python 2 plugins and scripts are no longer directly supported. macOS 10.12 Sierra remains the minimum. Installs to …/Perceptive Automation/Indigo 2023.1/ with a client named Indigo 2023.1. General

  • New actions: Run Apple Shortcuts (optionally passing arguments) and Get Contents of URL (optionally storing the result in a variable)
  • The Write to Log action gained log levels
  • Mac client:
    • Fixed the action item count text in dark mode and the Settings/Preferences naming inconsistency
    • Fixed plugins with a serial-port popup failing when the Python lxml module was installed
    • The Restart Server button in the server settings dialog is always enabled
  • Fixed truncated sprinkler valve status reports in the Event Log.
  • NOAA Weather: fixed misbehavior when a weather station temporarily disappears from the NOAA API.

    • Support for the i3 Keypad (KP014)

Indigo Touch for Web and the Web Server

  • API key caching, so validation does not fail when your Indigo Account cannot be reached, and Local Secrets as an alternative to API keys that never needs a validation call.
  • New Advanced Web Server Settings… in the Indigo menu: debug logging, hide security logging (not recommended) and a Clear Cache button for the API key cache.
  • Fixed Indigo Touch showing an error when a Control Page's refreshing image fails to load, and excessive CPU use with many refreshing images on one page.
  • Copy ID in the device menu
  • Light/dark choice is remembered and the toggle restyled
  • Tooltips for tab descriptions and clipped state names
  • Miscellaneous refinements from customer feedback

Indigo 2023.1.1 — October 17, 2023

  • Fixed errors in the Event Log when the Shortcuts list was empty.
  • Fixed the server restarting when the Mac client was launched while the server was already running in the background.
  • Fixed the Aeotec Dual Nano Switch failing with an error.

Indigo 2022.2.0 — February 23, 2023

Indigo 2022.2's headline is a completely rewritten Indigo Web Server with a new browser-based UI (Indigo Touch for Web) and new HTTP and WebSocket APIs. It also adds Apple Shortcuts capabilities, three new NOAA Weather devices, and a long list of Z-Wave devices. macOS 10.12 Sierra remains the minimum; installation takes several minutes and the progress bar is not accurate.   • The client/UI plugin request timeout is one hour while debugging.

Indigo 2022.2.1 — April 4, 2023

  • Fixed an installer problem where websockets 11's incompatible changes stopped the web server from starting
  • Removed the deprecated HTTP Basic Authentication option from the Start Local Server dialog
  • Web Server:
    • Faster through browser caching and API key caching
    • API keys masked in log entries
    • Fixed a _queue_message exception
    • Removed extraneous debug logging
    • The log-feed WebSocket's initial events are now in chronological order
    • Added the missing JavaScript MIME type
  • Indigo Touch for Web:
    • Control Pages can authenticate with an api-key in the URL (use only on the LAN or over the reflector's HTTPS)
    • Hover tooltips for state names and values
  • SQL Logger: no more pruning-table log entries when logging is disabled. NOAA Weather: fixed creating a new weather conditions device and the Celsius label.
  • Insteon: i3 OutletLinc (WR01), i3 Paddle (PS01) and i3 Dial (DS01).

Indigo 2022.2.2 — April 6, 2023

  • Fixed Control Page refreshing images whose file URLs contain spaces, Control Pages opening at the wrong window size on macOS, and at the wrong scale on iOS.

Indigo 2022.1.0 — May 10, 2022

Indigo 2022.1 brings macOS 12.3 compatibility and native Python 3 for plugins and scripts: all embedded and external Python scripts now run under Python 3.10, and older plugins keep running but show a warning in the Event Log and a yellow status icon. macOS 10.12 Sierra remains the minimum. Indigo 2022.1.1 — May 26, 2022

  • Z-Wave: added the Zooz Relay Switch (ZEN71)
  • Fixed module syncing failures
  • Fixed the plugin API's substituteVariable and substituteDeviceState not being found.

Indigo 2022.1.2 — June 29, 2022

  • Email+: better SMTP compatibility — no redundant EHLO commands, no empty CC/BCC fields.
  • Z-Wave: fixed trigger scene-name mapping for the Zooz ZEN77 and support for the ZEN72
  • Fixed configuration parameters sometimes failing to set, errors while processing module-awake commands, and the device submission page not opening in the browser
  • API version 3.1
  • New optional Devices.xml attribute allowUserCreation (default true) lets a plugin keep a device type out of the New Device dialog's model menu

Indigo 2021.2.0 — December 16, 2021

Indigo 2021.2 adds context-menu conveniences in the Mac client, message-broadcast and energy-polling settings for Z-Wave devices, a long list of new Z-Wave devices, and a large set of plugin API additions for web-serving plugins.   • indigo.Dict / indigo.List convert to their Python equivalents
  • indigo.Device converts to a dict of all its properties
  • indigo.util.JSONDateEncoder
  • APIs for the plugin folder path, support URL and web server URL.

Indigo 2021.1.0 — June 17, 2021

Indigo 2021.1 is the release that brought native Alexa integration, a Universal Binary (Apple silicon and Intel), the Email+ plugin, OAuth and API keys in the Web Server, and automatic relaunch of the server after a crash. The minimum macOS is 10.12 Sierra. It is also the first release to use the year-based install path, …/Perceptive Automation/Indigo 2021.1/, and a client named Indigo 2021.1; the IndigoWebServer folder became Web Assets. General

  • Native Alexa integration
  • OAuth (for Alexa, Google Home and other services), API keys and other Web Server improvements, with revamped REST API authentication
  • Universal Binary — native on Apple silicon and Intel.
  • Email+ replaces the built-in email handling and the Better Email plugin (thanks to Joe @FlyingDiver for contributing it). If you had email triggers or actions, confirm they still work after the automatic conversion.
  • The server relaunches itself after a crash
  • Sunrise/sunset calculations get the Mac's location from macOS more reliably
  • Double-click plugin installation handles updating a plugin with the same version number
  • Worked around a macOS bug that stopped some variable names and values from being editable
  • Insteon: fixed duplicate links being created in some modules during sync.

Indigo 2021.1.1 — August 5, 2021

  • French, German, Italian and Spanish localizations, in preparation for the Alexa skill

  • Alexa: fixed discovery of devices without an address, and errors from Unicode values. Fixed emails with non-ASCII subjects, and some legacy web server plugins failing to load.
